Dr. David Reckhow participated in an on-going research study on the role of algal growth and climate change in Lake Erie's water quality

Dr. David Reckhow participated as a Project Advisory Committee member to an important on-going research study on the role of algal growth and climate change in Lake Erie's water quality. This included special focus impacts on drinking water quality for Cleveland and other cities using its water. This study is funded by the Water Research Foundation and the City of Cleveland. The research team is examining how environmental factors affected by climate change (ice coverage, algal population dynamics) might be affecting the formation of carcinogenic disinfection byproducts in drinking waters in the Lake Erie region.
